While the original International edition celebrates number 1.000, my first collaboration with the almost legendary architecture, design and art magazine dates back to issue 751 or summer 1993. In fact, writing for domus – which I did until 1999 when I finally relocated to Germany – has been of great influence to both my design thinking and career.
In comparison, the German edition of domus – founded 2013 – albeit closely linked to the Milanese, is relatively new and open to new things. Keeping account of both backgrounds, a reciprocal get together seemed to be almost unavoidable – or at least this was the leading argument by Alexander Geringer, CEO of Ahead Media, the Berlin & Vienna based publisher, when he asked me to become the new – or rather first – brand editorial director of domus Germany – and a design columnist to go with it.
For now, I hardly can do more then happily announce the new appointment – first results of this collaboration will appear with the summer issue, due to launch in summer 2016.
See you then with more content, and hopefully even better news.
